Math homework........6 < c + 1?

1. 6 %26lt; c + 1

2. p/3 %26lt;(with line underneath it) -2

3. y - 4 %26gt; (with that line thing underneath) - 2

4. 3b%26gt;(with the line thing underneath)15

Math homework........6 %26lt; c + 1?
1.

6 %26lt; c +1

5 %26lt; c

c %26gt; 5

2.

p/3 \%26lt; -2

p \%26lt; -2.3

p \%26lt; -6

3.

y - 4 %26gt;/ -2

y %26gt;/ -2 + 4

y %26gt;/ 2

4.

3b %26gt;/ 15

b %26gt;/ 5

That's the answer I'm using \%26lt; to describe question number 2 and %26gt;/ to describe question 3 and 4.

Nice to help you! ^_^

2. p %26lt;(w/ line) -6

3. y %26gt;(w/ line) 2

4. b %26gt;(w/ line) 5
Reply:First, understand the signs.

Number 1 %26lt; Number 2

The '%26lt;' less than sign is saying that

Number 1 is Less Than Number 2

8 %26lt; 20

1 %26lt; 2

5 %26lt; 9

Number 1 %26gt; Number 2

The '%26gt;' Greater than sign is saying that

Number 1 is Greater Than Number 2

56 %26gt; 2

10 %26gt; 9

1 %26gt; 0

For your first question, as a hint you are looking for a range of numbers. Thats saying 6 is Less Than (c+1). As another hint find out what will c have to be to make 6 = c+1, then seeing what 6 %26lt; c+1 will be clear

As for the others %26lt;(with line underneath it) means Less then OR Equal to

example:

Number 1 %26lt;(with line underneath it) 10

Number 1 can be 10 or anything less than 10, 8,6,1,-100 and others.

10 %26lt;= 10

5 %26lt;= 10

1 %26lt;= 10

all these examples are true

That should be enough for you to figure the rest out. Its going to hurt you the most if someone just gives you the answers. Hope this helps.
Reply:i'm assuming you need to solve for the variable.......you solve inequalities the same way you solve regular equations.....i'll do the first two and then you can finish

1. 6%26lt;c+1 subtract one

5%26lt;c there's your answer

2. p/3%26lt;= (or equal to) -2 mulitply by 3

p%26lt;= (-6) there's your answer

now you try the last two........
Reply:just treat it like linear equation

6 %26lt; c + 1

5 %26lt; c............answer =)

Other do yourself so you will know
Reply:1)

6 %26lt; c + 1

c %26gt; 6 - 1

c %26gt; 5

2)

p/3 ≦ -2

p ≦ 3(-2)

p ≦ -6

3)

y - 4 ≧ -2

y ≧ -2 + 4

y ≧ 2

4)

3b ≧ 15

b ≧ 15/3

b ≧ 5
